From scared and barking rescue to happy and social with impeccable manners

Overview

Turners early years were not what they should have been for any dog. he was confined to one room and was not given the opportunity to display normal behaviours of a dog. he was fearful of people as he never saw many, he was reactive towards dogs, he had no recall and struggled to walk nicely on a lead.
This is due to his early experiences and lack of training. In turn this had a huge impact on the coming months and years.

Fast forward a little and Turner was "rescued".  However, due to his fears and lack of experience, his new guardians found themselves with a little dog who barked at EVERYTHING. He told everyone who came within 10 feet of him to go away. In addition to this, his new guardians had no confidence in how to deal with Turner's anxieties. They struggled out in public and were genuinely worried that they would never be able to have a happy contented dog.

Process

Fast forward to today.
Turner has had a lot of successes in the past year. primarily he can cope with dogs close by, he chooses to look away from dogs that are a little too close. He has learnt some really core skills which have created a strong bond between him and his guardians. He has done all of this through our puppy and dog training classes.

What the trainer says about Turner
I have been working with Turner and his pawrents for over a year now and I can honestly say the transformation is incredible. When we first met he told me exactly what he thought of me. He is such a cute little dog and I was so sad he looked at me so fearfully. Through the power of positive training, today he was lifted out of the car and he made a beeline for me with a waggy tail and the look of pure delight was visible across his whole body. He is a clever little boy and I have to make the challenges a little harder every week to keep him progressing even more.

What Turners guardians say...
We are so very pleased with the progress Turner has made with us and we feel that its not only the fact that he is now in a lovely safe home but its the training we have done with him.
It has strengthened the bond but we see the benefits every single week. The continuity of training is so important. It gives us structure to the training and ensures Turner has the right exposures in a controlled environment. We love coming training as much as turner does.
