Puppy and Dog Training Classes at Ipswich, Colchester, Clacton, Martlesham, Stowupland, Barham, Clopton, Hadleigh

What is the training for?????

Our Puppy and dog training classes teach obedience, good behaviour, doggy manners and life skills for puppies and dogs of all ages and consists of a 44 week programme which can be booked in sets of 8, 12 or 16 weeks. You can chose to do some or all of it – the choice is yours. The programme is split into 6 achievable levels where your dog receives up to 6 certifications throughout their time with us.
Our 44 week programme is based on research and scientific facts and benefits dogs in all these ways
  • Formal puppy training for the first year of life reduces dog to dog aggression
  • Dogs that don’t attend classes for the first year of their life are 2.6 times more aggressive than those not attending training with other dogs in the household
  • Dogs that don’t attend classes show a 2.8 times higher level of non social fear.
  • Dogs learn over months  and years by layering the learning just as we would learn at school.
Here are a few of the things we cover:
Socialisation, Lead walking, Recall, Impulse control, Trick training, Emergency stops, Manners around animals and people, Scent work, Heelwork, Preventing problem behaviours and much more.
Our training is comprehensively designed around training life skills, gaining a great relationship with your puppy or dog and supporting you through every life stage from puppyhood to adulthood and beyond.
How long does a course last?

Our training is modern and progressive, and can be booked in sets of 8, 12 or 16 classes. You can rebook and continue your training for as long as you like, as we never repeat the same class twice. We actually adapt our class programme criteria each week according to skill level of the individual dogs attending as we prefer to be focussed on your dogs needs rather than just repeating the same classes over and over again.

How many sets shall I book?

You can choose to book as many sets of 8, 12 or 16 classes as you would like. There is no limit to how many times you can keep booking, as our training is tailored and progressive. It takes around 44 weeks to cover everything we train from start to finish.

Adult dogs requirements will depend on any previous training, but as a minimum we recommend 12 classes.

Can I do more than just classes?

Absolutely, and we highly recommend everyone joins our VIP membership program. You get access to over 250 online training tutorials to compliment your classes, live regular video sessions with a behaviourist, and access to a dedicated VIP membership group for more help and support whenever you want and need it. VIP membership is half price if booked at the same time as a class.

Flexibility?

We have lots of times and days available, as well as offering the flexibility to book dates to suit you in sets of 8, 12 or 16 classes. If you have a holiday or event planned you can choose the dates you attend from our easy to use booking calendar. You can also book our flexible booking option which allows you to make a set amount of changes per booking.

Lola and I have been attending classes in Colchester since Lola was 16 weeks old. She's now 18 months and we've just completed the full 44 weeks. It's been an incredible journey. We've both learnt so much and I'm extremely grateful for the training and guidance we've had from Vicki. The training methods used are fun, varied and tailored to every dogs ability. Training any dog isn't an overnight process, it takes time, dedication and a lot of patience, but the bond you get with your dog during that process is amazing. We've loved every minute of our journey so far and we're now planning our next course with Best Behaviour Dog Training.

Amazing hour. Bracken thought it was easy but it soon got harder. Well done to all the puppies in our session.

I took my puppy (Ellie) to Zoe's Training Classes mainly to get Ellie socialised with other young puppies in a safe and friendly environment, which is what we got. Zoe was very friendly and approachable and had a lot of time for myself and Ellie. The classes were very enjoyable and I was surprised on how much Ellie and I both learnt. I would highly recommend Zoe to any of my family or friends with a puppy.

Jeff had a very bad start to life and when we brought him home he was a very nervous and uncertain dog. I called Zoe for some help and guidance and I can certainly say all her advice was excellent, so a big thank you Zoe. Jeff suffered with separation anxiety, but with Zoe's help this is very much improved. We reward and praise all the time and Jeff now sits to command :0). Jeff is a much more relaxed dog and each day we see more of his great personality coming through.

I had a dog that I could only describe as a nightmare to train and walk. I had tried everything, training him at home, classes, residential training. But nothing worked, he just didn't listen and was becoming uncontrollable as a 40kg adult German shepherd. I spoke with Zoe and she assured me that with the right training and approach Baxter could become a reformed character. She was right! A few weeks on and the improvement was incredible. We are 6 months into our training and he walks to heal, comes when called and is a joy to walk. Thankyou Zoe it's changed our life.

So glad we enlisted the help of Zoe for our generally anxious 2 year old dog Florence who also had separation anxiety since a puppy. The advice was simply and clearly given and we could also get in touch anytime to ask questions if needed. Zoe clearly loves dogs and is very approachable and friendly. Our dog could not be left alone at all, now after a few weeks she can be happily left for a considerable amount of time. Florence was very anxious before we had the help of Zoe and had become withdrawn, now she is much happier, playful and very much part of our family. Thank you Zoe

Zoe and her team are amazing! I would have never believed my dog would be completing a whole agility circuit on the first day without a lead. You have possibly helped me to make a very crazy energetic spaniel focus on something for longer than a minute! Highly recommend!

Rosie age 6 was extremely nervous around other dogs and people. Pulled on lead and barked at other dogs and people she came across while walking. We attended Zoe's classes and Rosie soon began to behave better and with plenty of very useful tips I was able to train her at home and improve her behaviour dramatically. Each new dog is assessed prior to commencement of the classes to meet the right training requirement for each individual dog and not just become a number in the group. Zoe's way of training is all about rewarding the dog and keep them happy without realising they are at school! Zoe knows dogs very well and all her heart is in providing best service for the owner but specially the dog itself. I attended a class in the past and was advised Rosie was too old to train. She was certainly not. Strongly recommended. :-)

Zoë s classes are very friendly and relaxed. Depending on your dogs ability and age Zoë will differentiate the class so that your dog will get the most from it and improve your dogs behaviour. Zoë is always available for any queries, questions and will give you useful strategies during and after the class and is always more than happy to help. It is really enjoyable to take your dog out and about and it behaves well with other dogs and is sociable with people.

'We took our Sprocker puppy Freddie to training with Zoe and her able assistant Carl at Stowmarket. We immediately felt welcome by them and the other dog owners. The classes were fun and interesting for both the dogs and their owners and there was even an agility set up. At the first lesson we were asked to let our dogs off the lead at the half way point, which initially filled me with dread. However, we were reassured by Zoe that none of the dogs would run off. In fact they all played together close by.I have already recommended a work colleague who is now taking their dog Alfie to the Ipswich Saturday class. I would highly recommend new dog owners to attend the beginners classes.

We contacted Zoe after having problems with our little Jack Russell Bridget who we adopted at 9 months old. She had a whole range of behavioural issues from aggression to other dogs, disappearing on walks, going to the toilet on her bed, jumping up ...the list really was endless. Zoe spent a full 2 hours understanding Bridget and then more time teaching us how to build her confidence and tackle each issue individually. She really knows her stuff and has an unrivalled love for dogs. I would recommend her to anyone with a dog that has developed any behavioural trait. She had an easy and manageable solution to all our problems. Bridget is now a very confident and happy little dog :-)

We have a 6 year old border terrier, then introduced a border terrier puppy in to the family. As she was too young for classes (not fully covered by jabs)we decided to start training early at home. Zoe was brilliant, both myself (an experienced dog owner - or so I thought!?) and my 5 year old daughter learnt so much and it's really paying off, we have a 4 month old puppy who's much more obedient than her 6 year old companion. As we're restricted with levels of exercise at this age, we use training in the evenings to both bond with our new girl and keep her mind active. We wish we'd have done this with our older dog, but he's really keen to join in and learn new tricks - especially when there are treats about:-)I'd recommend a 1-2-1 session for any new puppy owner, I'm now keen to go on the puppy course too, knowing that we have a great foundation to build from.

We attended puppy classes at Martlesham and it was a lovely setting to train my pup with lots of space and friendly people. All the training was treat based and we got excellent results doing this. We never realised it was okay to use treats like this to train. It’s been a life saver for us.
