What is the training for?
A fun, fun, fun Introduction to Heelwork to Music for anyone who loves to have fun with their dog.
Heelwork To Music is a great way of developing your dog’s training and focus, whilst increasing their skills and flexibility. For people who love doing competitive style obedience, some Heelwork To Music can really boost your dogs work and spice up your training.
There are eight different heelwork positions - along with all the “moves” which are so much fun to teach your dog eg: walk back, weave, round, wiggle and boogie! We then put these moves to music and look at what music might suit you and your dog, building up to a fabulous group routine.
No previous experience of Heelwork To Music is needed for either owner or dog, just a foundation of basic obedience. This is a new and exciting sport open to everyone - even if you have two left feet! You just need a sense of humour and a desire to have fun with your dog!
We aim to give you a fun introduction into this fun sport.
Masterclasses are held in a grassed paddock at the Blue Cross Rehoming Centre in Ipswich.
Blue Cross Rehoming Centre
Ipswich IP2 8NQ
(If you are using Sat nav it may not bring you all of the way to the centre. If approaching from the south side of Bourne Hill, you will pass the Oyster Reach restaurant, and Bourne Hill kennels on the left. The centre is just past the kennels and opposite the entrance to the dry ski slope)
Wherstead is just off junction 56 of the A14 making it easy to reach from Sudbury, Felixstowe, Ipswich, Colchester, Woodbridge, Martlesham, Sproughton, Copdock and surrounding areas.
What to bring to class:
Water and water bowls are provided, but if your dog prefers their own please feel free to bring that as well. We recommend not feeding a morning meal, or at least reducing it, as the training is reward based and their tummy’s will fill up quickly!!!
Parking is available on site, and please read our terms and conditions before booking.
Helping animals in need through training
We are delighted to be training at the Blue Cross as Best Behaviour Dog Training support the rescue dogs with financial contributions for the use of the space as well as giving the Blue Cross rescues a space in every class so they have time out of kennels, and interaction with dogs and people whilst they are waiting to find their forever home.
